Remember Chernobyl? It's explosion spread radioactive material from the Ukraine to Scotland, with an estimated 4000 dead - so far. The temporary cover that was put over the reactor is in danger of collapse, a collapse which would have serious consequences.
There is a project to construct a huge, permanent, steel building over the site. Apparently it has a funding shortfall of nearly $1 billion - an enormous amount of money!
Or is it? Each of the large international banks pay out around $5 billion in bonuses every year. The war budget of the USA in 2009 was nearly $700 billion - for just one year!
It's not the money - it's what we choose to prioritise.
