Stephen King, writing in today's Independent, reckons that the big surprise in store for the economy will be deflation. I usually find Mr King to be amongst the more insightful economic commentators in the Independent. Thus I am surprised that the notion of deflation should be a surprise! We have clearly entered into a massive deflationary spiral wherein trillions of dollars of debt are wiped out (as the toxic contents of the fraudulent banksters asset sheets are gradually exposed). The problem is that the criminal activities of Bernanke, King et al., who are furiously monetizing debt, mean that the deflationary period will be followed by hyper-inflation. Ouch! - well at least the Icelanders are showing the way in refusing to feed the junkie money fix of the financial cabal.
